The TA for my contemporary art class is quite the character. He’s persistent about us having bagels in the classroom every Thursday morning. Bagels in the middle of the tables forming a square. Bagels on a large table. Bagels on a large table with a model toasting, and applying cream cheese & jam & butter to them “like paint”. “It will be ( Read more... )

Your entry made me laugh. Several times. Thank you.

But it was not vague. I am aware of the turmoil that you speak of. It will pass, if you take it seriously, and do what it tells you to do. It may return, if you should become trapped or stagnant.

Also beware the TA, we grad students are generally either married or single and predatory. I don't really fall into either of those categories becaue I suck at being predatory -- predators need keen eyesight, generally. But you already know all of this.

Oh, and I owe you a letter. Yours is sitting on my desk. I haven't forgotten it.

P.S. The word is "disconnection" not "disconnect". I don't care what your linguistically avante garde TAs tell you. It's just a tacky fashion statement.

laughing is goood :D

eeeeeh...i must admit that word&sentence in general irked me as i wrote it...but, this is a journal. not a scholarly paper. its what came out, so it stays.

&, tacky fashion statements arent that bad...they have their place too...

Staying stagnate coupled with tinny bouts of passion and plans is far too easy. It’s leaving this security that hard.

of course i don't know what personal event your referring to, but i relate to your general words. so true.

I loath living with people who live their life out like it’s a cheep daytime soap.

that's interesting that you don't loathe the people but you loathe living with them. interesting because i wonder why so many ppl around me frustrate me, even though i don't especially dislike them.

i remember you talking once about how you don't spell everything correctly even though you know how to spell. and i think that's cool. makes your entries more real or raw or something.

I thought I'd respond here so's not to bother everyone else.
You were a camper at Camp St. Michael? When was that? I've been a counselor there for the last five summers? Who were your counselors? Do you remember a counselor named Kayla, cause that would be me. Or my sister Margaret, was there two years. I love camp! :)

eeemm...i was there 2000,2001,2002 ...advanced,survival,graduate ...counselors:marggie,katie,eh, & i forget the name of my counselor for graduate!

your name in association with csm sounds familiar...as it should...but, as you can tell, i never spent much time at base camp, so i dont know many of the staff members, other than people who i was a camper with who went on to be counselors...

oh! i was at young adult camp too last year too ... i miss csm & i've wanted to work there for the past two summers, but only 3 weeks of camp work really is not enough for me. so, i have found myself exporing other camps...but, who knows, maybe this upcomming summer i'll be back! :)

how was camp this summer? is funding improving? do you know if hunt&yuni are married yet?...sorry for getting all gossipy on you :P

Okay, I totally know Margie, I grew up with her. If you had her for Advanced, that would have been my first year on staff. And if you had Katie Frey for Adventure, that means Steph was your buddy counselor. Steph is the new Program director now, the job that Erin used to have. Can I ask what your last name is? I'd probably recognize it.
Hunt and Yuni are in fact married now. Hunt just had his last year on staff here. If you did Young Adult Camp, that means Melissa was your counselor and you must know Sophie Coble too. I cooked for young adult camp, I MUST have seen you! You should absolutely work at camp this year, it's the best experience ever. But, you don't really work at camp for the money, so if you need money, look elsewhere, sadly.
And if you went to SVHS, I HAVE to have heard of you! We have so many things in common! I graduated from there in '01. Do you know my friend Tessie Aguirre?
I have to leave cause I'm driving home to Sonoma today, I look forward to hearing from you.
Kayla

huuummm...i actualy did young adult camp summer 2003...i should have specified that...so margie was my counselor...but, i do know&love sophie. she was in my advanced group. i think. + she went to svhs

my last name is Rea (pronounced Ray)...i think people from camp still remember my brother (Will) and i, becasue when my sister was a camper there in '03 she said that people knew her relation to us...

i graduated from svhs in '03. i dont konw if you would remember me from there though. during the time that you were there i was a quiet girl who dated a musicly inclined boy. oh, and tessie and i had an ap class together too! shes super interesing, although i never got to know her very well!

maybe that sparked something...?

anyways, i hope that your having a good time in sonoma this weekend!

ps: oh, and thanks for catchin me up on the camp gossip...i really only stay in touch with crystal now, and shes an odd one, so i dont quite get the most acurate gossip from her. :P
