Yet at the same time, doing this was exactly what he wanted. It felt like the right thing to do, it made him content. It was the most he could do.
Should I wear the ring or not?
His heart felt empty, yet bursting with emotions. He knew very well that this question shouldn’t even be asked or thought of. It wasn’t because of how apparent the answer was (because without a doubt, that ring would be on his finger, not laying isolated on his mess of a table), rather...
The real question is, was it real or not?
His emotions sure felt real. After all, could you fake emotions? On the outside, of course (and he was no stranger to that), but on the inside...
The whole time, he worried if he was going too far. He thought about how this 'first time' would be for her. He didn't want to hurt her. He didn't want to give her negative impressions of like and love and relationships. She had a pure, untainted heart, and he knew it was his job to lead the way. He wanted to lead the way, but maybe he wanted it too much.
Things were starting to get too real, too strong. If these feelings weren't real, what were they? He knew from the start, that this was merely a television show, meaning that there were restrictions. But as time passed, spent with her, he realized that it wasn't the restrictions of the public that made him weary, but the restrictions of his heart.
It was tiring. The pull of these thoughts he had in his mind. The pull of these feelings he had in his heart. At many times, he felt helpless, caught in-between these tug-of-wars. It was him against himself. Him against his heart. It was like his heart had a mind of its own.
I'm going to like this girl. I'm going to beat faster when I see her. I'm going to be bursting with happiness when I'm with her. I'm going to want to protect her wherever we go. I don't care what you think, mind.
Aigoo... What are you going to do, Seo JooHyun?
