By now I really should know better than to wear my Nobody shirt to work, especially on Saturdays. There are too many people who come in on Saturdays who like to reassure me that I'm not Nobody, I'm Somebody.

All I can say is that this essay that I have to write explaining "how the suffering brought upon others by the tragic figure contributes to the tragic vision of [The Bluest Eye] as a whole" is going to be a tragedy in itself.

In fact, I'm thinking it'll be a blank tragedy.

I just watched Ferris Bueller's Day Off for the first time*, and all I can say is that Matthew Broderick is my HERO.

*I know what you're thinking, and yes, I do live under a rock, thanks for asking.

It never fails to surprise me just how much people know (and remember) about me just by coming in every weekend.

It's kind of creepy, acutally.

One hour down, many, many more to go here at the Y. It doesn't help that I am really, really tired, and that I'm sitting here (ignoring the French summer homework that I brought along) thinking about how much I would give to be able to go back to bed and catch up on some sleep. Just got home from watching L'auberge espagnole, and all I have to say is that the French sure do make weird movies.

This summer's going pretty well, compared to previous summers where I'd sit around and watch Dawson's Creek reruns until noon every morning, then lounge in my pajamas for as long as I possibly could before succumbing to the summer ( Read more... )
