Broxford and London

Hi guys.  Not posted in AGES!  I'll post again with a catchup of life, but for now I have a recent tale of adventure.

I went to Broxford, a juggling convention which also features board games, a "bring a bottle" coctail party, a show and a regegade.  As usual, much fun and hilarity ensued and I was rather sad to have to leave on the last day.
Now it happens that this convention is just 30 mins cycle ride from my house, and the morning after I got back, feeling a little depressed that it was all over for another year, I suddenly realised it doesn't have to be over, I could easily cycle back and help them litter-pick.  Little did I realise this decision would lead to rather more adventure than just litter picking:

The night before, a crazy jester called Rumpel (short for Rumpelstiltskin) had performed at the renegade.  If you don't know what a reneagade is, it's basically a "show" in which anyone can perform.  I did a little skit last year about how difficult it was to get into my tent, and this year I got called up by the host to do a double act, sitting on his shoulders and both of us hula hooping. Rumple did an hour before the renegade.  He is known for his very long acts in which he messes around and eventually performs some tricks like skipping on a unicycle or riding a tiny bike.  Anyway, after his stuff the renegade began.  It normally gets more and more chaotic and silly as people drink more alcohol. Eventually it migrated to the fire, but I didn't join and went to bed.  When I woke up, a lot of people were still around the fire, and I chilled with them for a bit and even played a game of Dixit (an awesome picture describing game) with a few, but then since they were all a bit hungover and getting a little less chilled I decided to go home.

Little did I know that my return would result in further adventures in the city of London.
It turned out Rumple didn't have anywhere to go after the show and since I lived nearby I offered to give him a place at mine. The next day he let me be a fool for a bit in his costume, which has to be the most intricate and awesome outfit I've ever worn.  He'd designed it himself.

(I don't really do it justice, so here's a better picture of the costume:
)

We decided to head into town to visit Spinning @, a juggling club in London.  Rumple had a large number of crazy props in a sutcase, as well as his costume etc.

We ended up taking the props on what has to be the most exhausting tour of London I've ever been on.  At one point Rumpel was trying to get the suitcase down the stairs and accidentily let go, and the suitcase came plummeting down, continued skating along the floor for a few meters and bashed into the wall.  Thankfully I was stood to the side :P  After the juggling club, we went to my friend Gareth for the night and then headed to Rumples friend Martin who lived in Hackney.
Martin is a unicycler, and we greeted him as he arrived on a large unicycle.

Even so, his manner did not reveal how interesting and cooky he was.  When we entered his house though, all was revealed.
Here are just a few pics:

Finally I had to come home or I'd have happily spent the rest of my time in the UK on this crazy adventure with the call of "just 10 more minutes" persistantly calling further stay.

I'm very glad to meet and get to know such awesome people... hope to catch up with you soon Martin and Rumpel.
