This was the last race I will ever be able to enter as a junior. Now I'll have to duke it out with the old guys, who by the way are hella fast. Race avrage speeds in the high 20's are the norm and speeds upwards of 40 are almost commonplace. I might even have to shave my legs to keep up with these guys next year. This should be fun.

So the other day I, being in need of some unique memories of the summer, decided that I would go an entire night without sleep. I started this by watching some late night TV till around 3 at which point I went out. I blame it on bad luck, of genetics. I was cursed to weigh about 75 lbs too much. Going up that hill, that many times just kills. The finish you ask? I have a race tomorrow in Rockford, and I hope to come back a rich man. I'll do 2 races, Juniors which pays beans, and Category III which has around a grand and a half to the first 15 people. So I finial decided to get off my hump and do this. The last day was pretty sweet. It started with us having to carry some stupid heavy 16 foot rafts down a large flight of stairs, which was difficult because the other people "helping" were lifting like 5 pounds each. This day was pretty sweet. I started out with a breakfast burrito and about 6 midget cans of OJ and then we were on the river. Since we had the 4 man boats the day before, we got to be in the 1 person inflatable kayaks (duckies). This day was our first day out on the river. It took long enough to get going, and my troop got shafted with having to be on the two 4 person 12 foot boats for this day.
