>I still haven't weighed myself in a while on a scale that I trust, but it's not bothering me too much. For now, I'm evaluating based on performance, and I'm pleased with my performance. Next time I go to a gym with a good scale, though (i.e. NOT 14th Street or Grand Central) that I actually change and shower at (i.e. NOT White Plains or Hawthorne, where I just go home to shower), I'll weigh out (I weigh out after my workout...I feel better that way).

Actually, I'm kinda glad to hear you suggesting that you exercise more for the pleasure of it, rather than because you want to get to a certain weight. I think it'll keep you going longer. :)

Werd to what the person above me said.

Dunno, I'd ditch the scale entirely... I guage my fitness based on how strong/alert I feel, how squishy I am, and how my pants fit. Don't even own a scale; it would be confusing. I think my weight fluctuates throughout the day by around 5 pounds, anyway.

Right now I am quite squishy and it is unacceptable. I'm also insanely busy (it will definitely get worse), but today I fit in a solid 1/2 hr on an elliptical. I'm not sure I trust that machine. I went 2.45 miles in 30 minutes, and allegedly burned 345 calories. (It was on a hill setting.) You seem to have more experience on them than me; are the numbers any good?

(It seems off bc it's easier than running.)
