Oooooh yes he did.

And I don't get enough comments per post to warrant a "first!" comment =P

Let's Pretend (Trippin')

I got dragged to a strip club once, they didn't tell me where we were going so I sat there like an idiot with only about $3. And I still regret not tipping the chick in the schoolgirl outfit who gave NIN new meaning in my mind.

That's why the Good Lord created ATMs and credit cards. ;D

Unfortunately this was during the early/mid-90's when I had one maxed out credit card, and lived out of my checkbook. Otherwise I'd have been hitting that cash machine big time.

Question!

Let's say I wanted to go to a strip club with my boyfriend (we both like to look at girls, woo!). How much money should we bring (per hour, I suppose, since I know it depends on how long we're there)? Is it okay etiquette to tip together, or should we plan to tip separately?

Thanks!

Yay for going girl-watching with your boyfriend! I used to do that all the time with my last b/f - and to actually answer your question, I always had my own stack of singles. Depending on the club (and squigglz will have to answer this for where she's working), you might be able to get a couples' couch dance; the one time we did this, he handled all of the money, just because it made more sense from a logistical standpoint.

When I took my boy to the club for... well actually I'm not sure it was for any occasion in particular tho we did go on Halloween... anyway he had his own stack of $20s to tip as he pleased, but I was buying the dances. Mostly because it was more fun that way for both of us (since I wasn't No if he asked for a dance) and also because I kept surprising him by handing girls I knew he liked money for couch dances, so he ended up with a string of like 7 or 8 dances in a row...

Uh but I'm not a stripper so I couldn't tell you from that standpoint, but I would say you should each at least have some money for tips in case one of you is occupied and the other wants to sit at the tip rail.

When I go with my guy, I bring about $20 for an hour, more if I want a couch dance or anything. I tip seperately for him, cause, in my eye, it's kinda rude to depend on my boyfriend to tip - he's there for himself as much as I am there for me. :)

I always look forward to reading these things. The only thing that I don't like, is how you don't get paid for just being there... I of course am an outsider, but if I had a business that required women be mostly naked, I'd at least be paying them something for it on top of tips.

Maybe after I win the lottery.

Actually, the dancers usually have to pay the establishment to work there. The dancers are not employees. They are usually "independant contractors", from what I've heard.

That has been successfully challenged in court in many states. I wish more strippers would fight it.

I know, and that just seems lame.

But thats just how I look at it.. :)

oh that last story was CREEPY!

Man, I once went to a local strip joint with a couple guy friends. One of the guys was friends of my guy friend and was in town for a weekend. The guy will NOT tip the strippers and insists on going and staring at them. And he says that he goes to strip joints all the time! I was so disgusted. The guy doesn't drink either. And he's a church going Mormon, too- so he shouldn't even be IN a strip joint. Gah!!! So frustrating!

You could always somehow get a picture of him outside the strip club and then "accidentally" mail it to the church he goes to.....

One of the joys of Mormons is that in that particular religion a "bishop" is not some guy you never see. The bishop handles a much smaller congregation than his Catholic counterpart and often does things like showing up at the home of newcomers to welcome them to the ward.

They also take calls from concerned friends who are worried that Brother So and So is in need of support in his struggle with a particular sin.
