Only Kerrigan could say that and sound so apathetic about the answer. (Unless the answer was 'the house'. Then she'd have a differing opinion. And, all right, some answers might be funny. She was allowed to have the vestiges of a sense of humor.)

Before Kūkaku let herself be annoyed over being interrupted, she reminded herself that at least Kerrigan didn't interrupt by bursting in riding a giant boar.

Really, it made all the difference in the world.

"Grapefruits," she offered in response. "Want one?"

"I think I'll leave the explosive grapefruits for whoever's day you're trying to ruin," Kerrigan said, dryly. She ran her eyes over the fruits in question with a vaguely approving look.

Ruining people's days: totally a worthwhile way to spend your time.

"Aw, c'mon, Kerrigan," said Kūkaku, stabbing a precision knife into the rind of a grapefruit with a nice fluid movement. "Ya know I do this shit for fun! Ruinin' someone's day with it is just an added bonus!"

Well, it was Tuesday. Which meant Max was at the door, knocking.

This promised to be entertaining.

Kūkaku wasn't likely to be answering her own door even if she wasn't on the edge of a grapefruit explosion breakthrough; there was no way she was getting up now.

But that was why she had servants, and that would be why there were now three masses of beefcake now at the door of 29 Chimera Court. Koganehiko and Shiroganehiko opened the door, and then looked at Max expectantly.

Huh. It wasn't often that Max ran into guys his size.

"Hey," he said casually. "Is Kukaku here?" He was expected.

Yeah, and Koganehiko and Shiroganehiko had awesome mustaches, too. Take that, Max.

The two men exchanged a look, looked back at Max, and then to each other again. One of them, the one in the yellow shirt, shrugged, so the other one shrugged, too.

Then the grunted and nodded in unison. Yes. She was. And apparently just answering the question in the simplest of interpretations was all that was necessary at the moment.
