Woot, I have air-conditioning!
Kind of.

I was so sick of dreading every summer because my room faces the west and I can never sleep well at night, so I purchased a 11 litre Portable Evaporative Cooler and Heater.

So far me likey.

Ohh! An air cooler thingy!

I sympathise with the hottest room in the house. Growing up my bedroom got direct afternoon sun and used to turn into a sauna. Well, that was until two years after I'd moved out and mum & dad upgraded the air-con in the lounge room and put the old small box air con unit in... my old bedroom.

This morning I have discovered a downside. I woke up to have the power out for my bedroom and my sister's bedroom. I had set it on the timer before I went to bed. It did say in the little manual don't plug it into a powerboard, but I ignored that. In my room I have lights, PC, monitor, TV, DVD player, vcr, and alarm clock all running off powerboards. I will have to find a way to get the AC a socket all to itself.
