I've never been sure how much a retro culture exists in Jamaica music-wise. Seems the medium's very much 45s-based, and you're only as good as your latest single. Or at least it USED to be so... I guess certain musicians are respected, but maybe not to the same extent of folk snapping up their entire back catalogue as with rock acts. Perhaps the U. K. and the States are bigger markets for lovely OLD sounds ?
