Don't worry so much about proving yourself, I know it seems of upmost importance, but to be honest, things really don't pick up until your sophomore year. I'm not at all saying you're not capable of being noticed, because you totally are, but don't expect too much as a freshman. And I don't think, as a freshman, that you will be left behind, especially in modern. Ballet I can understand, but in modern we're in the same position right now and at least you're a freshman, giving you more hope of being in modern 4 by the end of your career at USF. You're above where you should be in modern and even if it would suck to be in modern 2 again, you'd still be caught up.
Maybe it's the same...bakerism18April 22 2005, 11:27:50 UTC
You know that i felt alot like that when i first got into ROTC? In the Gunney's eyes i could do no right. At first it felt like he had it out for me, but all he really wanted was to see me succeed. Slowly but surely he started to warm up to me as i did better and better. Then the new freshmen came in and all the sudden i could see, by comparison, how far i had come. Maybe it's the same way with you. I think that you are inproving, but since you don't really have anything to compare yourself to then you don't think you are. Stick it out, and i promise that you'll be rewarded for your efforts.
