Basis: After surviving a car-crash that takes away the life of her step-father and younger sister, Dinah wakes up in a hospital temporarily mute and with a permanent limp in her right leg. She meets the guardian angel, Cygnus.
He stood at the side of her bed, starring down at the slumbering girl. The nurse came in and walked right through him as she went to check the machines that kept them aware the girl was alive. His pale-blue eyes stayed on the face of the girl.
Tracing her closed eyes, cheeks, noses, lips--…All of it into his memory. Because in the end, it’ll be all he had when he was this close to her. His wings clinched as the girl stirred a bit. Turning her face, it was like she knew he was there in her dreams. Odd, especially since it brought him a tinge of joy to know it.
Without thinking of anything, he brushed away the once long, now short stands of hair from her face. His hand cupped her cheek, disobeying his order to return to his side. Thumb stroking her cheek. His hand moved behind her head as he leaned forward. Pressing his nose and mouth on her forehead and whispered a small, personal prayer for her not to wake up too soon so he could enjoy this a little while longer.
Oh, how Cygnus prayed…
