The fairy princess~

8 years since I first heard it and only a moment ago I discovered that Link's voice in the Kamigami no triforce sound drama is fucking Marth's. And it's not even a lie from the Japanese wiki page on Link. When I recalled/redownloaded said drama to verify the claim I could tell it wasn't straight away, but still isn't it wrong? For Marth to take ( Read more... )

But...Link's not supposed to talk...is he?

I wouldn't be able to listen to that without imagining Marth in his place.

Well.. if Link is supposed to use speech at all, it's certainly not as often and elaborately as you can hear Marth doing in his stead. Although to be honest, with the Zelda series' visual qualities improving, I've been starting to feel that Link's inability to interact with people in any other way than nodding agreeingly at whatever he's told by them has been tilting from looking natural to making him come across as slightly retarded. Slightly retarded AND incapable of telling others of what has happened if he'd say, got raped by someone though, so maybe it wasn't all a bad impression his muteness has left on me in the end.

And yea, it's practically impossible to not imagine Marth on a quest for Zelda when listening to that thing. But imagining Marth is good right? Even if he's getting a bit too hysterical over the fate of his tea party pal.

His lack of language skills seem to help him communicate with Yoshi in Subspace Emissary. Maybe he was rendered mute after all those childhood encounters with the Re-Dead.

Marth at a tea party? Yeah, that makes sense.

And it seems I was right about all the fangirls abandoning Marth in favor of Pit once Brawl got out.

He does seem pretty traumatized yes, and who knows what's really being done to Link inside of those 'likelikes'. Actually though, me and a friend once had an entire site dedicated to how Link gets raped and abused by about anyone in his universe, including Zelda, and I'm not sure how much of it was implausible.

And it seems I was right about all the fangirls abandoning Marth in favor of Pit once Brawl got out.

Would you think? I noticed there's a far wider offer of Marth fanart circulating on the internet than before he was announced in Brawl so I'm pretty contented .w. I agree that Pit's probably way more popular, but Marth was never as celebrated as he to begin with (not during the Melee age at least).
