I was thinking that what it needs is a salvaged radiator from some huge V8 like a cadillac. Run the coolant through that if the water pump can handle it. Two bigass fans on it.
The trans cooler is a necessity as well.
The alternator is probably not super required. We just need to rethink our power budget and use lower-power lighting.
Temp and oil gauges would be a cheap and easy addition. They'd probably show us just how bad things really are ;)
Yupyup...all myself. (well, I had my friend help me lift the engine out--by hand b/c it's really light--, but that's it) I've helped with engine rebuilds before and such, but this will be my first entirely by myself. I'm excited! Having plenty of time to go slow and do everything right is really advantageous.
The car had 240,000 on it and ran awesome, but a small crack in the head was causing a coolant leak, and I figured that while I have the heads off (and am replacing them) I might as well rebuild the whole engine!

Perhaps I shall recruit your services if I ever get around to fixing the head gasket on the ish artcar.

If you were to make that a decent-running artcar, it's going to need, at the least:
Transmission oil cooler
Extra cooling fan
Higher output alternator
Temp and oil guages (at least)
Off the top of my head... I'm sure it'll need other work, as well. Good stuff! ;) Definitely a fun ride! heh.

Guess once you've created that one of a kind body, you've gotta keep the sucker moving!
