Remember, remember, the Fifth of November,
Gunpowder, treason, and plot.
I see no reason, why gunpowder treason,
Should ever be forgot

Oh, and congratulations to President-elect Obama and his supporters.

I want a recount! There was probably a problem with the machines or the voters forms for all the people that really wanted to vote for Bob Barr!

(while I did vote 3rd party, that of course, is a total joke)

I'd never seen the voting machines NY uses before - there was a scary resemblance to slot machines. I like NH's (paper ballots w/ an optical scanner) better.

I'm...relieved but cynical about the election. I'm hoping McCain can go back to being himself now. I did vote for him in the NH primary (admittedly never with the intent of voting for him in the presidential, but he seemed like the least of all evils on the Republican side). I'd like to believe that Obama can bring about change and "fix" things, but frankly, I think too many bad thoughts are too entrenched on both sides of the aisle for that to happen in anything less than a few years.

We'll see, I guess.

I thought McCain had a pretty classy concession speech. Palin looked a bit queasy, though. Maybe she's not looking forward to going back to Alaska?

I'm told that NY is one of the last states to still use those things, and they really are disturbingly anachronistic--like you're stepping into a time decades ago when you go in to vote.

She just got off a plane from Alaska, where she voted, after having just flown out there the previous day. Jet lag.

And, because I'm a bit dense...is there some kind of message in the whole Guy Fawkes thing, above and beyond it being Guy Fawkes Day? That's third time I've seen that rhyme today.

It's Guy Fawkes Night.

No message, just a reminder about things that shouldn't be forgotten, but have.

And that still sounds like an attempt at subliminal messaging. ;)

I'm not fond of gmail stacking my messages. I didn't even realize you'd replied.
