Ben was diagnosed with melanoma (skin cancer) 5 years ago. He finally lost the battle this morning. He's the 2nd person under the age of 40 that I personally know who has died of cancer. And yet another friend from high school was recently diagnosed.

I'd just recently started corresponding with him again. I actually have an email from him in my inbox dated just a week before he died.

I know I suck about keeping in touch with my friends, and I've regretted it, but never as much as I do now.
