For years, my answer to this question had always been Edgar Allan Poe. I remember falling in love with "Annabel Lee" when I was in the 5th grade and being heartbroken when I wasn't able to choose that poem during our poetry unit in Reading class because one of the older girls chose it first. Almost by default, Poe became my favorite poet. While I enjoy Poe's poetry, "El Dorado" and "The Raven" joining "Annabel Lee" as favorites, I mostly enjoy his tales
