In my defense, one of the main characters just went and got himself drunk right before a major meeting with an ally/rival thing, which is going to put him at a major disadvantage strategically, and while I would love to engineer it so that main char 2 just doesn't show up, it seems awfully convenient.

XD I mostly got through it, I think. Just sucked it up and did damage control. It astonishes me sometimes just how much of the writing process is damage control for the plot because the characters do things that are not in the plan. ^^;;
