1) I enjoyed it while reading it, but I don't think I'd call it a favorite or anything. I gave it a 3 out of 5 on Goodreads, since it was a really fast read, and I was invested in the story while I was reading it. I don't think I've read a lot of other civil war books to compare it to ( ... )

I think we basically felt exactly the same way about this book XD I totally agree with your two least favorite parts, and I was bothered by how one dimensional most of the characters were aside from the main couple and Will.

1) I liked it alright - gave it a 3/5. I was not obsessed with it while reading it or anything (could have put the book down any time) but I did like it overall. I thought it helped to give a more human side of the war than some other books I had read that felt less personal.

2) I liked both of the main characters and Will. The rest I didn't feel like we got to know well enough to care about one way or the other. It felt like there was more to some of the other characters from Rosetta's hometown that were in the war, but they never got developed beyond their signature trait.

3) I think pirate_nami's post basically covered that for me ( ... )
