Sometimes our families don't know us very well

My daughter just asked me if I ever heard of Bookcrossing. Which I found amusing because she doesn't know I founded this community on Livejournal for people who enjoy bookcrossing years ago. She found out about Bookcrossing from a coffee shop chain she enjoys going to that has a bookshelf dedicated to Bookcrossing exchanges. Unfortunately the name ( Read more... )

I really enjoyed Ender's Game and I'm not a big sci-fi fan. I hope you like it!

I take it she was grown up and had left home before you started bookcrossing. That's the only way she would not have known - you are a tidy person who never leaves a single bookmark or release bag or sticker in public view aren't you? One of those who tidies everything away.

Sigh, I wish I could do that.

Oh OH have you told her now? or is she still ignorant of your bookcrossing history? Has she joined? did she tell you her BCName? are you going to friend her? hehehehehe

I wish I was a tidy person. Actually she lives 300 miles away so there is no way she could have known. I try to keep my internet life untangled from my family. But as the Internet expands, it's getting nearly impossible to do that. I don't think she's joined bookcrossing yet. She has 3 jobs and barely had time to sleep, much less read.

Any chance the bookcrossing zone was Joe Momma's in Avila Beach, CA?? It would be cool to hear that - it's the closest one to me, founded by a fellow bookcrossing friend.

My daughters definitely know about my bookcrossing. They have joined too but are not particularly active in it. They don't read as much and they don't like to bother making journal entries. I have vainly sent them book after book, and they never enter them. But it's okay! If they read them that's all I really care.

Yes, she is here visiting and she said that's the one. She said it's the best coffee shop ever.
Unfortunately almost all the books I read are borrowed from relatives and friends or from the library so I don't do much bookcrossing.
