Hi - I'm new to Sunday Salon too! I'll do my post this afternoon when I've had a chance to do some reading - but wanted to stop by and say Hi :)

Welcome to the Salon. One of the best things about these Sunday gatherings is that every week new people come along and suddenly there is the potential for a whole new raft of bookish friends. I don't know if you've read anything else by Eva Ibbotson but if not then you're in for a real treat. Her work can often seem understated as you begin but then suddenly you find yourself completely caught up in it and wondering where the time went as you close the book having completed it in one sitting. I wish you a good week's reading.

Thanks for the welcome! I'm very familiar with Eva Ibbotson - first read "Which Witch" about 25 years ago as a kid, and was completely entranced by it. Then, when I rediscovered the book a few years back, I started collecting all of her kids/YA books as fast as I could find them. Your assesment of her writing style is spot on, and what I really love about her.

Both seem to be good books. I can read any genre other than paranormal romances!

I too posted for The Sunday Salon!
