*Nothing* counts as child abuse when the child is disabled, absolutely fucking *nothing*.

And PWD have been speaking up about this sort of shit for years, but we live in a world where having a disability somehow means you are *less* qualified to comment than AB family members or professionals, or a random dipstick on the street.

Gah. :/ And to think that when I commented last year that the "Ashley" episode would "inspire" others to do likewise with their children, I was accused of making alarmist, irrational, slippery-slope arguments. I really don't get the whole emphasis on supposed "dignity", either -- it's like some people just want to deny the fact that bodies are biological things, that perform biological functions. There's nothing "undignified" about your body working in the way that bodies do. Sheesh. :/
