Perhaps you're just never around them long enough to see other concerns. I'm a Christian, but I wouldn't say that I'm a one note person. However, when Christians are around each other, we often talk about God's word.

As for as the guy at the bridal shower is concerned, I've seen that before. And perhaps they weren't as young as you think. A lot of people look younger than they actually are.

Oh, no. I mean no offense. I was raised Christian. I hold no ill will.

Part of my fear is that I am often that way too. That is why I mentioned the veganism. That was just an example. It was like a mirror of a lot of people in my own life (not Christians) who only have one pet cause (excuse the pun) and are not well rounded. These are not just people I overhear, they are people I know. It seems as though, even though I have known many of these people for months, that they have nothing beyond that exterior.
