That's true! But I fear if I go to cable I will stay in for days watching things like E! True Hollywood Story and that's stretching the definition of 'educational' ;p
There is something special about having a bigger screen.
Personally, ever since I watched The Mummy Returns with a significant portion of an un-named major university's Archeologists,[1] projected onto the host's wall with a computer projector, and discovered that it wactually was possible to capture a real "movie" feel thereby, I've been waiting impatiently for projector prices to drop to something that I can afford. I even have the wall to show them on already picked out.
[1]A unique experience, involving much laughter, and the occasional, "Yeah, that happens to me every time I go the the British Museum too," when mummies attack.
Oh, yeah! Once a friend got a hold of The Phantom Edit so he brought home a computer projector from work and we all got together to watch it, wall-style... you're right, it did have that movie feel. Huh, I never thought about saving to buy one for my personal use. Oh, no! Don't give me ideas!
I've been watching as the prices have dropped from a couple of thousand, to less than a thousand over the last few years and have been sorely tempted.
But now they have projectors that do all sorts of High Definition stuff, instead of just the plain on 1024 x 768 that I'd been wanting, and the prices for *those* are back in the multiple thousands again.
If I had people over a lot it might be worth while, but as it is...I guess I'll just go back to waiting. ::sigh::
You know, I just got an antenna, and was able to get in network stations the other day. It was super bizzare, because it's been a really long time, yet reruns of "Just Shoot Me" were still playing late at night just like I last remembered!

Plus, the old TV only had one speaker in the back. We could barely hear it. Now it's all, "I'm takin' your car, bitch!" in stereo glory.
