The Day After - Breakdown

Ahhhh, Greek, I love you, I love you, I love you. I am so glad that you are back to bring exaggerated collegiate shenanigans into my life! Without you my Monday night would have been . . . well, I probably would have just played Bejeweled Blitz, so nothing all that dramatic would have befallen me except for more feelings of sparkly failure. But you ( Read more... )

+++When Rusty goes to see Max, I wasn't quite sure what was going on with the dude who was so obviously there to give Important Plotty information about his departure. What accent was that supposed to be? Muppet? Minus one (-1)

He's Dale's Canadian ex-roommate! I mean, he's totally a joke character, but making fun of Canadians is our national pastime, dammit.

+++I also don't care about Ashleigh and Fisher either. Minus two (-2).I feel bad for Ashleigh, but Fisher is incredibly boring and has a silly name, so I don't really care if they stay together, either. I'm more worried about her relationship with Rebecca ( ... )

. . . It all makes sense now. Everything. The whole world. How could I have missed this?

And I knew I had seen Gotcha! before! Maybe I can get a game started at work. Maybe I will just shoot people with Nerf Darts. We will see. . .

I hope this Rebecca thing will at least lead to a growth moment for her, and maybe Ashleigh, too. So far she's probably the character I'm the least interested in.

I know I'm still a nerd because when he broke that glass, I was trying to guess how much money that piece would have cost.

How much would it have cost?

Yeah, I think the actress is adorable, and her character is likeable, but so far her most dramatic storyline was when she ran up her charge card bill. Regarding Calvin, I like him, too, but he tends to be stuck in the sympathetic friend role, just like Ashleigh has in the past.

I didn't a good enough look at it to figure out exactly what kind it was, so anywhere between $30-100, not to mention any joins that were attached. (Organic Chem Lab sucked because of all the expensive glassware that you had to pay for if you broke it.) Bad Cappie!

I really loved Dale's plotline! Dale is definitely one of my favorite characters and it's so nice to see him getting a really interesting story. I can't wait to see where this goes.

Me too! I've been a giant fan of Dale from the beginning, especially because they do a good job of letting him be a caricature until it really counts, and then sometimes he's the voice of reason. I hope they keep giving us a lot of him, not just because he's usually the funniest. Apart from Cappie, to whom I am obsessively devoted.

Obsessive devotion to Cappie is an activity I share with you! Haha!

I love Dale more with every episode - and he was so great in this. I can't believe Cappie ignored him, and he didn't even get a hug out of Calvin, who just stood there and looked uncomfortable. Gah!

I want to punch Evan in the face. And slap Cappie for listening to him. I mean obviously they had to keep C&C apart for the good of the show, like aoxelfrieda wrote, but this was just so lame!

And I am over the fact that their go-to reaction to "we need some dramatic plot" is "oh, well, Rebecca can make out with someone inappropriate?"

I have never really warmed up to Calvin. Like, I think the actor does a fine job and I think that his story lines are believable and well-written, but I really wouldn't care all that much if he were gone. Just saying.

It was lame. And if they want us to buy Evan as not quite the bad guy anymore, I don't know why they made him be the crusher of all of my hopes and dreams. Or if they do want ot make him the bad guy, I hope it's not a repeat of the first season dynamic.

Right. THis better be the last time, and it better go somewhere new.
