Hi all.

So my laptop died. I took it in to be repaired and they called two days ago and said I lost my whole hard drive. Everything is gone--OWL, F&I, Return to Home, one-shots, pictures....gone. I had them re-install a new hard drive and he said he would try to recover the data. He was able to recover everything...in our son's folder. All of mine ( Read more... )

I have OWL complete and I'm up to date on Fire and Ice.

Sorry to hear about your hard drive - when mine crashed, I thought, too, that all was lost, but this associate of mine was able to regain everything. So keep your fingers crossed (mine are for you!!)

oh CAROL! I am so sorry this happened. I remember about 2 years ago the HD got fried. Now we have a backup HD so I save everything to that. And I have stuff on disks (I am going to be saving more stuff to there)

I hope your stuff can be recovered

it's such a hassle, and it couldn't have happened at a worse time. Grrr! I guess we learn from our mistakes, eh?

Thank you. If you could at least send me RTH, I would be forever grateful. You rock. Glad you survived all the storms and such too! It's been wetter than a river here, but at least we didn't have the flooding that some places had.

Hey, Carol! Our internet connection went ka-blooey Saturday evening; which is sort of okay, because I knew if I did have "Return to Home", it would be on the WORK computer...

~Oh boy... I'm so sorry to hear that. That sucks. :-( But I see that you already got someone who's gonna send you the stories. I wish I could have done it, but I usually don't save anything; and now, with these news from you, I think I should start doing exactly that.~

~I remember when I caught a virus a few years ago, still have no clue how did that happen with all the protection; and I couldn't even turn on the computer. Everything was in it, my final high school graduation project, other projects for school, music, some of my dads' stuff... it was crazy and I needed most of that stuff soon. The good thing is that my friend transferred everything to CD's and kept it safe, but I still lost a couple of stuff in the process of computer's healing. I really hope that they'll be able to save something at least.~

If I'm not mistaken, I have an html file of each and every chapter, one-shot, or whatever, that you have ever posted on LJ. I have absolutely no time right now, but sometime this coming week email me if you are still missing some, jackien1968 at yahoo dot com, and I will send you what you need. I can't believe you almost lost your whole book! I am not computer savvy at all-- I guess you can tell--and I need to back up my stuff a lot more. *sigh* But I definitely have a memory stick now.
