My little joke is that the Faulkner Hospital,here in Boston, was founded solely to treat those who have read too much convoluted Southern Gothic.

I read Light In August, and never read another thing by Faulkner. I thought that Twain did everything far better in Puddin'head Wilson, without the sledgehammer symbolism. At least, that's my story.
