Fred had never been happier to be home, especially when Rupert handed Molly over to her. She laughed softly, holding the squirming, licking puppy in her arms while her husband introduced Lorne to Charlotte. She noticed that Lorne's color had returned since they had left Wolfram and Hart - she wondered if that was because he was getting better or because he was actually away from that place. He still looked tired, though. She was sure that he was looking forward to getting some rest away now.
After the weekend they had, she was almost relieved to hear Rupert tell Willow and Charlotte that they would be taking a few days off. He was right - the trip to Los Angeles had been anything but a honeymoon - but at least they had gotten Lorne out of there and to safety. Angel and Charles might have changed and been pulled in by the place; however, at the very least one of her friends was safe.
She gave him a smile when he turned to her after Charlotte and Willow had left and asked her if it was all right. "Of course it's all right, she told him. "I think we need the time off." Leaning up to him, she kissed him while still holding Molly. The puppy decided she finally wanted down, though, she jumped out of her arms, and Fred was able to wrap them around her husband instead. "How about I'll get Lorne settled into the guest room, then I'll be right back?"
