Well now I guess its time for an update. As some, if not all, know Nicky is leaving for Paris tomorrow, and tonight we had dinner with my grandmother and my aunt Anne(the one who is most graciously letting Nicky use her apartment while she is in Paris). It was great, as always, to see my aunt for it is very seldom that we do get to enjoy her

I can never get over her wide range of interests! I love how she can discuss Nietzsche with you and then John Ashbery with me. She seems to know a bit about everything, yet she's not pretentious at all.

Anyway, I know I don't really get into those deep philosophical conversations with you the way you guys did tonight, but I hope you find some of the conversations that you and I have to be interesting and enlightening...because I do!

Well I'm glad you had such a great time and have someone who is actually interested in the same things; because I'm too stupid to know what the hell you talk about sometimes.

What you wrote made me think of my aunt and uncle who live out on Vancouver island. Both retired English professors. Both amazing people. I miss them a lot because I haven't been out that way in quite a while. Its always rad to have at least one family member who you can genuinely relate to.
