I appreciate your support on this. I got feedback from someone involved in another convention that made it sound like I was trying to scare people off, when that was the furthest thing from my intent.

Several LJers have alerted me to the fact, however, that they're reading my essay as "Oh my heavens, conventions are too expensive!" That's not my intent, and I'm hoping to show people, in future installments, that there are ways of reducing those costs.

I tend to actually budget conventions, myself... so I was looking for tips on that. They are very expensive if you are not careful. :)
