Want some recommendations

Hi all!

I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions for literary ghost stories? Awhile ago, someone was looking for "haunted house books" on my flist and this inspired me to re-read Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House and James' "Turn of the Screw" and now I really, really would like more. I've read Anne Rivers Siddon's The House

Poppy Z. Brite's "Drawing Blood" fits that category, and it's an incredible book.

The first thought I had was Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches series, but its not exactly what you're describing. Definitely creepy though, on multiple levels.
