What I’m Watching… Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World
So, I just rewatched Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. I loved Russell Crowe as Jack Aubrey, of course. Russell Crowe = yum yum! The Jack/Stephen subtext was more textual than sub-textual. Great acting with lots of emotion and passion.

I read and adored everything written by Astolat (fanfic author)
She wrote a novel called Temeraire.
I read it, adored it, found out she had also written M&C fanfic.
Realised a great deal of her love of Age of Sail came from M&C.
I saw this move and ADORED it (depsite my fear that it would be really gross. Brain surgery and amputations aside, not so much)
Read ALL 20 of the novels. twice. Loved them.
Listened to all 20 novels in audiobook form. Loved them!
In short - this is a great movie based on a brilliant series with two of the most wonderful and interesting characters ever created!
