One of my best friends in the world - the only really good thing to come from my time at Oberlin - lives in Houston. Her family lives in Corpus Christi. I've spent hours trying to get through to her. When I finally did this morning, I learned that after trying to leave Houston, spending 12 hours getting about 4 miles along the freeway, she's gone
