Right now I'm reading The Sunday Philosophy Club by Alexander McCall Smith. He's the guy who writes the #1 Ladies' Detective Agency series that takes place in Botswana. :( I really empathize with what you've said here. It's hard to live for the few people who appreciate all that knowledge and examination and consideration, and not get bogged down by the people who choose to live in ignorance out of fear.

Most people are unwilling to think about questions that don't have immediate, easy answers, because it's both scary and too much work. I think they live in a world very different from those of us who, for instance, really can't follow the logic of the Intelligent Design crowd because we know it's not real logic, or who think that the whole Left Behind philosophy is fundamentally selfish.
