Hello everyone. Please believe that despite my rather lackluster LJ involvement recently I think of you guys all the time. And I do read, I just utterly fail to comment... But the love is indeed here.

So last night my scarf from bandgeek arrived!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's so gorgeous y'all. I haven't taken it off yet. Well, OK, I didn't *technically* sleep in it

I've been reading fic ostensibly aimed at the teen market recently. It seems to be the place to go for accessible and not too throat-cuttingly depressing sci fi. Notably, there is the Bartimeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud, which I just finished, and the 'His Dark Materials' trilogy by Philip Pullman - which I enjoyed a lot last year. Well worth a look, both of them.

And in all honesty, it was a form of therapy for me, too -- I was stuck up here in Ohio, watching all this destruction going on, and feeling entirely powerless to do anything to help. Making scarves was something I could do from here.

I have a little bit of that yarn left over. I suppose I should try to make something meaningful with it.
