Summer travel and other musings

With 5 days of school left for students (and seven and half for teachers, but who's counting!?) I've actually been entertaining considerations of taking a road trip or two

The Oregon Caves are pretty cool. As is Crater Lake... Each would be a good place to stop for a day on the way to or from the Northern California coast. If you were to break up the driving that much, it might not even matter if you got all the way to the redwoods.

Hi, Emma!
We actually went to Crater Lake last summer, so I wanted to do something a little different this year (although K wouldn't mind going again! But there's so many other places, you know!) Some other time though, we'll have to go back to Crater Lake - and not only because we missed the boat excursion out to Wizard Island - maybe in a couple more years. There's so many places I want to go in the next few years and take the kids, particularly K! New York and Argentina...and I'll admit, Disney World. But also Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon and...Legoland! :) And later when they're a little older, Spain and France and England...Sheesh when the travel bug bites me it sure bites me hard! :)

All this talk makes me itch for travel too. (I hesitate to mention that, for probably obvious reasons.)

I'm taking at least one trip this summer, going to Boston in a few weeks for an extended weekend. And then there's the Go Congress in Tacoma, but that hardly counts.
