War on drugs. I've come across this story before (at an earlier stage), and as athersgo states, it leads to life-saving emergency medication being kept in locked cabinets a long way from the child. Happily the UK seems to be going in the other direction, at least in so far as chronic medication goes (I can see why infant teachers don't want to spend loads of time giving ear antibiotics to snuffly kids) in that the preferred model seems to be teaching children to manage their own medicine as soon as possible for the child.
