Torchwood

I am watching my way through Torchwood thanks to the wonder that is cable.

Countrycide: AKA Torchwood take a field trip.
I do like the idea of Torchwood going camping. I imagine it would...sorry, had to pause for a moment to appreciate Ianto in jeans...*ahm* plus the fact that Torchwood is supposed to be secret I think, yet they drive a van with 'Torchwood' on the side. Back to the story, and our heroes are setting up camp and playing silly games. And Ianto reminds us that it only a couple of episodes since the angstfest that was Cyberwoman.

Having not seen the ep between this and Cyberwoman, I don't know what the state of the team was in the aftermath. Or even if there *was* an aftermath. I like to think that this was a team rebonding exercise which went badly wrong...

Owen and Gwen is Just Plain Wrong. Nuff said. I cringe at it, and at his dismissive and nastiness towards Tosh, and that Tosh has so little self respect that she keeps pursuing. Owen grows on me later in the series, and I have always liked Gwen, but OwenandGwen is bad. Rhys is sweet and caring and lovely. I never really got the Jack/Gwenness either, but then Jack/Ianto is my OTP.

This story was genuinely scary. The point where you realise it isn't aliens, and the monsters are oh too human, was the point at which I hid behind a cushion, much to the amusement of my housemate. Actually she finds me amusing generally when we watch TV - I am a dreadful one for jumping and squeeking.

I have always had a thing for sidekicks. I prefered Lewis to Morse, Samwise to Frodo, and Ianto is an archivist too. Plus, being gorgeous is always a bonus. I like Jack a lot, and the man oozes charisma, but Ianto is my favourite. He gets well and truely beaten up in this episode, poor sausage, and I hope that someone *coughjackcough* helped him clean up and recover.

Crumbs, is that the time...I have to go to work tomorrow...
