Over at my Dad's, having just had a wonderful evening at the ballet. Northern Ballet Theatre do glorious productions, and Peter Pan is wonderfully put together. The lead roles are played by more junior members of the company, which adds to the childish feeling. They fly! Crocodile! Pirates! All good stuff ( Read more... )

Yay! NBT = awesome & "Peter Pan" sounds splendid. One of the disadvantages of London is that, spoilt as we are with having RB/ENB there & other people bopping through, we often miss things like NBT-WIN! because they tour to Smaller Places. *sadface*

Okay, yes, essentially I would like Ballet On Demand. And cheaper tickets. And possibly to be lent a ballet company for a bit to let Choreographic Leanings roam wild & free... Hem.

Still, yay for balletJOY! Everyone should have it. Well, nice people. And you are one of those & thus entitled to balletJOY. Yes *nods*

NBT are my favourite company, and I almost never miss a tour. When I was in Durham I was relieved to find that Newcastle is on their circuit, as well as Norwich! I've seen Dracula (AMAZING), Romeo and Juliet (twice), Cinderella, The Three Musketeers, Great Expectations, A Christmas Carol (at least twice), Midsummer Night's Dream, Hunchback of Notre Dame...and I am sure there are others. I love the sheer imagination of the stories, set design and choreography.

Plus the woman who danced Wendy tonight could have easily been Drina Adams...

Hopefully they will come to London again soon, so you can have some NBTJOY too.

Am very much hoping they'll come to London again soon too, as they are SUPER.

I've seen NBT's Romeo & Juliet & their triple As Time Goes By/Angels in the Architecture/A Simple Man. And checking through my programmes just realised How Much Ballet I've seen over the last couple of years. Golly.

Do you remember who danced Romeo? The performance last year was rather spoilt for me by Darren Goldsmith who was amazing, but looked at least 40, making the story a tad creepy... Dad also saw Hironao Takahashi (who I saw dance Mercutio) and said he was more convincing.
