I enjoyed this very much. We both seem to be interested in the theme of Patrick not being quite honest with Nicola, intentionally or otherwise! I haven't read any Josephine Tey but I now intend to find 'Daughter of Time' and read it.
I really enjoyed this. As a confirmed Josephine Tey fan (and Daughter of Time is my very favourite) I became, like Patrick a Richard III apologist after reading it, so this all seems extremely likely to me.
Helena Merrick does not come out at all well in this - but I really like the development of Jon's character.
Helena Merrick never feels hugely maternal to me, but in this I can imagine she'd been driven to distraction by first worry and then by a constantly grumbling Patrick. If this had been going on for several weeks I imagine she was ready to abandon him for a few hours...

I loved this, especially Jon's part in it - it's lovely to see more of him, and their friendship.
