Your whole last paragraph is giving me flashbacks to my wedding invite dilemma. I just cut it to the bone: parents, grandparents, siblings and a couple of friends for me, and Grant got to invite aunts, uncles, and cousins along with his parents and siblings because he didn't invite any friends or grandparents (since his grandparents are all deceased).

It was so hard to do because I would have loved to have people like you, your mom, Steve, and Terry there...but to invite them meant that I would have to invite everyone and, yeah, it was tough.

Invite the people you want. If I could do it over again, I would have invited you and your mom and, you know, *close* family members. It may create some friction, but you know what? Anything you decide ultimately will in some shape or form.

What Rachel said. Invite who you want, and if those left out get a burr in their saddle, well...fuck 'em. It's your day. You deserve to have it exactly the way you want it.
