Cally had wandered out from her room, finally, and stopped by the nearby open door.

"Oh, hey Ev--whoa, nice eyeliner," she said.

Evie turned around and smiled consideringly at Cally. "Do you really think so? It wasn't my idea, but I'm finding it has a certain appeal."

"A complete and total ambush," Evie said, shaking her head. "It was rather traumatic, actually. Although, it's certainly -- striking." She studied her reflection again in fascination. "I look like Theda Bara."
