Room 512, Sunday evening

Dec 16, 2007 18:08

Evie had waited until after the football game to open up her presents from her parents, and was gleefully eating a cupcake as she read her mother's letter.

She stopped eating and re-read the last page with concern, then slowly went back to evaluating her presents, thinking hard.

[ooc: open! Evie is 17 today, yay. Or, you know, 107.]

anne, sokka, happy 17

Anne came knocking on the door after closing up the bookstore, a wrapped package under her arm.

Evie hopped off her bed, still thinking, and opened the door, brightening immediately. "Anne! Hullo! Come in and have a cupcake."

"Hospitality and baked goods," Anne laughed, holding the package out to Evie. "Whatever have I done to merit such a greeting?"

"You're here on my birthday! Which is as much celebration as I like, really." Evie accepted the package with a big smile, looking hopeful. "Thank you! Let's see---" She started to carefully unfold the wrapping paper, then gave up and ripped into it happily. "Ooo! How lovely!"

Sokka grinned and leaned against her doorframe with some flowers and a gift.

"Hey," he began suavely, and then stopped himself. "It's... Today's your birthday, right? It's today?"

"It is!" Evie bounced in delight, then pounced on him for a hug. "You remembered!"

"Of course I did!" Sokka replied, hugging her back and ignoring the fact that he almost hadn't. "Happy Birthday!!! I'm sorry your birthday's so close to finals -- that's gotta suck."

"It's not the best possible timing, no, but really, it does mean I have something to cheer me up as I study," Evie said, bouncing back, and then shaking her present. "Oooo. Let's seeeeee." She ripped open the wrapping and opened the box, her face lighting up with delight. "Sokka! It's lovely! Ooo, should I put it on now?"
