very nice portrature work! The shading and contrasts really make these pieces work and express their emotive content - which they hava a considerable amount. It feels like they really reflect the figures' personality and moods. I simply love the female figure's hair. The turntable looks really cool - I love how the table just dissolves into the background in the upper right corner and the simplicity of the pic. The balance is absolutely brilliant and the composition works GREAT!
Hmm... I should look into Richard Avadon - to be fair, I really don't know many historic or famous photographers. It'd be awesome to expand my horizons, though.
I can imagine it'd take a lot of time to get that one right, but it was definetly worth it.
