For posterity:
On Friday night my friends and I had drinks and talked around a table of wine and cheese and crackers and such. Everyone was tired and went home kind of early. Well not everyone. It was nice but I felt kind of old.

On Saturday, me, Ted, Sean and Nick went to see S.U.M.O (yes, for some awful reason they had to make an acronym out of sumo wrestling for the American audience. And it included the word sumo! ughh). at the Garden. Man, for all the promotion they did (Regis and Kelly, Bloomberg made it Sumo week in NYC, Reuters news report, walking though town in their.. uh, attire, and making the cover of the Bergen Record sports page, there was NO one there. MSG was about half full, generously I think.
But it didn't matter because it was still awesome. It ended up that a huge Japanese guy ended up winning it (there were only 2 or 3 Japanese out of 24 competitors) and he was pretty impressive. A good time had by all.

We got back to Jersey at 12:10 and Nora and Athena came in from the city soon after, plus Corinne and also Kate and Katie, so we drank a little, Kate and Katie went home, and Corinne and I watched the rest of them get Hammered from the other side of the bar. It was just like old times, and eventually I went home. Diner breakfast the next day, then I went for a run in my new expensive running shoes, then we went to see Waiting, which is kind of like that Andy Kindler joke on Dr. Katz (where he says, "We did a study and found out that my target audience is men... my age... who are me" and they show the whole crowd full of him) in that it is so specific and only people from the age of 18-25 could possibly get any enjoyment out of it. Juvenile 20-something humor plus that "lost" feeling.

Anyway, it was a really good weekend, but sad: dropping off Nora at the train, the movie, the feeling like this is what we used to do and no we don't, and I'll seeya the next time I seeya. Meh.
