GOBAMA IN NC

May 06, 2008 22:04

Woohoo! Obama has won handily in my state. I felt it in the air when I voted on Friday. The place was packed with Obama voters and 9 out of every 10 Democratic Party bumper stickers I've seen are for Obama.

I love how state Rep. Brad Miller uses basketball as a metaphor in this article. It's quite fitting for North Carolina. ;)

obama, politics

Oh, snap! Someone made a sports analogy about politics! Now THERE'S a fresh perspective on things!

Fortunately, I've talked with Miller and know that he's actually much smarter than all that. But don't all these pathetic hack journalists know that they're quickly becoming just one big self-referential joke?

As Chris Matthews is fond of saying, HA! Well, I'll forgive Keith Olbermann if he does it (not that he's as bad as that parody), given his former career at ESPN. ;) It does seem like you can't escape a meeting of pundits without at least one sports reference, and I've never understood why the two would automatically be linked.

Still, if you're gonna refer to a sport in NC, I think state law requires that sport to be basketball. ;D

That icon is the coolest shot of Olbermann ever. All it's lacking is that he's not dripping wet from having walked to the studio in a thunderstorm.

Yeah, they really should've added that detail. :) Do you know if it's a photo, or if it's a still shot from a video? I found it on Google images and it begged to be made into an icon.
