I found some PG Tips teabags at the Harris Teeter at Cotswold. It's been quite a while since I've been a regular HT shopper (not by choice, by necessity); in fact, I was missing out for most of the Raleigh years. Kroger and Food Lion just don't tend to carry stuff like this. :p

For years, I've heard from English people that PG Tips is their ( Read more... )

PG Tips is soooooo English - yet it's kind of blue-collar down-market English!!

I was astounded that some of my Brit friends never made drip coffee - they liked and always drank Instant!!!!

I'm glad it's blue-collar down-market English. :)

Instant coffee? Ptooey! ;) Well, when I was a kid that's what my mom used to buy. She only made drip coffee in the giant percolator thingy if we were having a lot of people over; otherwise, it was instant. I loved the coffee that came from the giant red percolator.

I'm sorry. Actually, that post is what made me remember that I had the PG Tips and go brew a cup. :)

Raleigh has HT :)

After two years of 日本, my teas tend towards Oolong-cha, Sen-cha or Mugi-cha. I'm going to miss being able to find green tea in every drink machine I pass...

Be that as it may - milk and sugar? Man, what a way to ruin a good tea ;)

Yeah, I know where the one is in ...drawing a blank... Cameron Village? That's the only one I ever knew how to find. It's just that we always lived right next to either a Food Lion or a Kroger and groceries are more expensive at HT.

I don't usually put milk in tea, and will often drink it straight. If there's honey, I use that. If there's sugar, I may use it or drink it plain. If it's green tea, I usually like honey in it but never milk.

Our local Harris Teeter was visible from my kitchen window when I was a kid, and it ruined me for all other grocery stores. I had to shop in others for a while, but I always missed HT. :)

The "Taj Ma Teeter" at SouthPark Mall has a small, but decent British foods section. It seems like I've bought Typhoo there... it's a crap tea (I'm kind of a tea snob), but I like it! :)
