"So wait. Let me get this straight. You've come … from the future - my future - to tell me that Howard loves me?"
"That's right, you're gettin' it now."
Vince stared at his futureself with dismay. "You've travelled back in time to tell me that? Not anything useful, like what single style defines the next decade?"
"You're a muppet. Of course that's what I've come back to tell you. How else will you figure it out? You certainly wouldn't notice it yourself."
"Well, if I'm dumb, so are you! How'd you know then, genius?"
"The same way you do, naturally. I told me."
"Wait … you only know because when you were me, you told it to yourself?"
"Right."
"So how'd it get figured out to begin with?"
"It's a paradox, ain't it?"
Vince was quiet for a minute. "You mean it, though? Howard actually loves me? Because he says lots of stuff, but most of the time he don't mean it."
"He's always meant that. Even if he didn't realize it."
"Oh."
"You're both hopeless."
Vince supposed so. "Any other tips? Like, fashion tips?" he asked hopefully.
"Um … pandas?"
"Pandas? What's that mean?"
Future!Vince laughed. "You'll see!" he said, and disappeared.
