According to
our poll, a whole mess of you are interested in participating in this year's Boostlethon*, which is great news! Since a bunch of people requested an option for artists, we're including it in the main winter exchange for the first time. So please read the rules carefully! They're a bit different this time around.
*Fun fact: I mistype it as "Boostlethong" 90% of the time.

RULES
Part One: Signing Up
How does it work?
You sign up
here and give us prompts for a fic OR piece of artwork you'd like to receive. On October 11th, you'll be given someone else's prompts, and have to either write a fic or create a piece of visual art fulfilling at least one of them by December 10th. On December 17th, we'll post all the submissions here, and holiday joy will ensue!
Sounds great! What can I ask for? Does it have to be Ted/Booster slash?
You can ask for whatever you want, as long as it includes Booster OR at least one of the Blue Beetles. You can ask for something that's all about Dan, we don't care! It can be het, slash, gen, AUs, whatever. But at least one of the Blue 'n' Gold fellas must be represented.
Note: NO non-con, dub-con, or death, please! This is a funtime holiday exchange, so try to keep it on the lighter side. (Of course you don't have to ignore the fact that Ted and Dan are dead/no longer canon, and can request fic that deals with that, but extremely angsty fic that kills off, say, Jaime, is not really in the holiday spirit.)
If your prompt and/or submission falls into a gray area and you're not sure if it's appropriate, feel free to ask the mods in comments or by emailing poisonivory@gmail.com.
What about sexy things?
It's fine to request porn, but make sure you have at least one prompt that is not porn, in case your writer/artist doesn't feel comfortable writing/drawing it. It's also fine to include it in your submission, of course, but only if it's been requested. Use your judgment!
Can I indicate whether I'd rather write or draw?
Yep! There's a place for that on the sign-up form.
Can I indicate whether I'd rather receive fic or art?
Yep, but we can't absolutely promise that you'll receive your requested type of submission, due to a limited number of artists. That's why we'll ask you to submit prompts for both fic AND art on the sign-up form.
Where do I sign up?
Right here. Part Two: Writing the Fic/Drawing the Drawing
FOR WRITERS: How long should my fic be?
At least 1,000 words. There is no maximum limit.
FOR ARTISTS: What kind of media can I use?
Whatever you want! If you wish to carve a life-size statue of Dan Garrett out of butter, be my guest. Just make sure you provide a polished, finished-looking piece of artwork. No one wants to spend a month working diligently on a piece and receive a pencil doodle on notebook paper in response. If you're not sure if the medium in which you would like to work is allowed, leave a comment here or drop an email to poisonivory@gmail.com.
What if I don't like my prompts?
Unfortunately, it happens, but this is a gift, and you'll just have to deal. We won't assign you something you've specifically said you cannot write/draw, but we also won't swap your recipient because you don't feel like writing/drawing what you've been given. (That said, if we do make a mistake, like assigning you all Dan prompts when you said you've never read a Dan comic, let us know, and we'll switch you with someone else.)
What if I don't finish in time?
If you don't think you'll be able to finish in time, please, please, please let us know by the drop-out deadline, which is December 3rd, so that we can assign a pinch hitter to your recipient. There is no penalty for dropping out before the deadline - we understand that these things happen.
If you don't let us know before the deadline and don't finish your fic in time, you will not be permitted to participate in the next exchange.
My recipient is a secret, right?
Right! Please don't say what you're writing or who you're writing for until the mods post the fics on December 17th.
Should I use a beta?
YES YOU SHOULD. Everyone should use a beta, including artists. You don't want to accidentally give Booster three thumbs, do you?
Part Three: Submitting the...Submission
Where should I send my fic/art when it's done?
To poisonivory@gmail.com.
What format should it be in?
FOR WRITERS: .doc, .txt, or .rtf, please. Google Docs are also acceptable. If you can do your own HTML formatting, please do - if the mods have to format a dozen fics very quickly, we're more likely to screw up.
FOR ARTISTS: A high-quality JPEG, GIF, or PNG file, please.
Where will the fics/art be posted?
The mods will post the fics/art right here in the comm, and post an announcement about it on
boostle.
Part Four: Anything Else?
I have a question that wasn't answered here.
Leave a comment, or email poisonivory@gmail.com.
