There's very little discussion on LJ or any of the Buffy/Angel forums I frequent about the comics that Dark Horse has published in the past that are set in the Buffyverse universe, while not being a direct continuation of either of the two shows. .

I think Origin is canon as well.

Yes, "pretty much canon" (I assume that the pointy-eared green vampires aren't).

I didn't count it because it's about Buffy and a prequel to BtVS (practically another version of Joss's movie script), while Fray and Tales aren't strictly a part of BtVS or AtS story. They're more like other spinoffs.

"Tales of the Slayers" is by far my favorite Buffy comic of all time. The first "Tales of the Vampires" collection is darned good, too. I am not captivated by "Fray", though I find your analysis interesting. I detested "The Thrill" which seemed pointless and nihilist - the polar opposite to "The Chain".
